Health, Wellbeing & Skills for Life

The Health and Well-Being Area of Learning at Glan Usk focuses on learners building knowledge, understanding and skills that will help them to develop safe and positive relationships, deal with difficult issues and decisions, and learn to live independently. Children are taught about physical activity and diet, emotional well-being, relationships, and learning for life.

The Area of Learning also considers how the school environment can be best adapted to support children’s social, emotional, spiritual and physical health and well-being through, for example, the curriculum, relationships, the food it provides, joint working with other relevant services such as health and social work, and the access it provides to physical activity.
